Cookie Policy
Policy pursuant to EU 679/2016 Regulation, below called “GDPR”, to the articles 13 and 122 del Code regarding the protection of personal data (196/03 Legislative Decree) and to the General Provision of the Guarantor on May 8, 2014 concerning cookies, for the users browsing the website danbergamondo.com, below called “website”.
What cookies are
Cookies are simple informations transferred from a website and saved in the hard-disk of the computer (or in the memory of the mobile) of the user and are little text files which let the web sites store some data in order to render themselves accessible on a next access by the user.
According to their source or origin cookies can be subdivided into two categories:
- Proprietary cookies, which are created, cancelled and modified directly by the visited website.
- Third party cookies, which are created by other websites which own the contents, e.g. announcements, images, social buttons or other services, shown in the pages of the visited website.
According to their duration, instead, cookies can be classified like follows:
- temporary cookies (e.g., session cookies), which get automatically deleted when the browser is closed.
- permanent cookies, which remain available until they’re intentionally deleted by the user or till their natural expiration, established by the website which created them.
Most of the websites uses cookies because they are included amongst the technical tools commonly used in the WWW able to improve the browsing and the experience of the user while letting, furthermore, to offer customized services (e.g., to avoid to ask each single time username and password (N.B. a function not used in danbergamondo.com), to remember the last application used (ditto), to keep products in the shopping cart (ditto), to show important contents for the user, to remember that a certain message has already been seen, to remember the setting about the language chosen, etc.).
These are also called “technical cookies” and do not fall under the data processing governed by the GDPR because they don’t include personal data, nor identifiers linked to personal data or other information which let identify the user, and their usage is strictly functional to the provision of services by the website.
Even the advertising firms may use the technical cookies, for example in order to limit the number of times they show a certain advertisement, or to set the frequency of visualization of advertisements (rotation of banners).
In any case, cookies can only be read or modified by the website that created them and cannot be used to access any other datum of the user by means of the browser, nor they can transmit informatic viruses, because they are not software programs, but rather simple textual information which can’t absolutely harm the computer/smartphone.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically, yet the user l’utente can disable cookies directly from his/her own broswer.
It is good to know, however, that, depending on the level of quality of the services offered by the website, disabling cookies can may lead to, for the user, the impossibility to use all or some of the online functionalities, and in some case even the access, to the website itself.
The cookies of my website
Like most of websites even mine uses cookies to improve the user experience and to provide advanced functions which wouldn’t be possible without the usage of such cookies.
My website uses both proprietary cookies and of third parties.
For what concerns proprietary cookies I exclusively use “technical cookies” both temporary and permanent.
Temporary technical cookies
Amongst the temporary cookies it’s included the wordpress_test_cookie cookies, used to verify that the browser used by who’s visiting my website supports cookies.
Permanent technical cookies
My website also manages permanent cookies with various expiration dates depending on their functionality.
Listed below are the main functionalities of my website using technical cookies:
- remembering the user’s preference on cookies in relation to the present policy.
- remembering the user’s preference on the language chosen to show the website.
Third party cookies
The website allows the transmisison of third party cookies (social media, advertisement and statistical monitoring firms), but limited in this case to the simple sending of cookies to the user’s device, without managing their operation and content, which therefore totally rests with such third parties.
My website exclusively uses the “native” cookies of the various browsers (textual information) and does not rely on the so-called “Flash Cookies” (a different type of cross-browser cookies), but some third party websites could use such technology which requires the Adobe Flash plugin to be installed in the browser.
Statistics
I do not currently use cookies to monitor the accesses to the websites and the browsing stats.
Nevertheless the website uses, preset, YouTube cookies to record technical information on the user and statistics on the watched videos.
Advertisements
I do not currently use plugins allowing the showing of advertisements based on the cookies on the device of who’s visiting my website.
Disabling Cookies
Cookies can be disabled by using the browser’s settings.
As already underlined, disabling cookies can, for technical reasons, lead to a limitation or the impossibiliti to access some of the functionalities of the website.
Deactivating cookies also prevents to show you just once eventual service messages, or to know whether you’re a new user or an user who already visited my website.
